We've Got Grass!

Yay, the grass finally came, on Wednesday. Since then it's been cold and raining and we MAY get a flurry of snow tonight. Just as long as it doesn't FREEZE and hurt anything. It looks pretty good, huh? We've planted 4 additional rose bushesup along the porch and we'll be putting in some bulbs this weekend (if it stops raining). And lastly, you can see the plants hanging from the posts and the planters, which we also filled with roses. We're gonna have a super prety front yard! (Summer says hi!)

Yay for Grass
And here is a little detail of what I did around the tree. Placed those stones and then planted some tulip bulbs (so we don't have to plant in the spring, because they'll just shoot up), rose bushes and put in some solar powered accent lights.

Details of Edging
And, yeah, I know, this isn't fitting with the post, but I wanted to show off the pool table, as well. You can see how the cues are on a rack on the wall, the shelving we assembled and put along the back wall, there is a radio with speakers for music while we play and not shown are some pictures that we hung, too! So, it's a fun game room, sorta...haha.

Pool in the Garage
That's all we have for the house for now. Almost done showing the place off. See ya next time.

Another Week, Another Post!

Hey, check us out! We're updating our blogs!

Here is our front yard, in progress, grass soon!!! This is our very FIRST tree, YAY!!!

Our First Tree
And on the inside, we're pretty much done with this media niche and putting up some trinkets. We may put a picture on one or the other side, though...we're still decorating, but we're getting there!

Media Niche
And for other stuff we did today, see Jackon's blog, as we finished up his room. Also, both cars are once again sleeping in the garage, because we finished unpacking/putting away the last of those boxes. We just need to unpack a few vases and I need to organize my tool area a little bit. I made my upper cabinet and hung it up, and cleaned up the garage.

Oh, and to go with the front yard, we actually finished that surrounding stuff by the tree and planted some tulip bulbs, some rose bushes and put in some solar powered lights. I'll have to get some pics of that, too...but, yeah, it's late, I'm tired and we DID TONS, so we're going to bed.

Catch ya next week!

A Month Late on the Update

OK, so we moved in with that ceiling issue, which was discussed a few posts ago...so, this is the view we moved into, and a few pics of the plastic covering the day after we moved in (Friday, until Monday when it was all cleaned up...sort of, we still had to clean some of it ourselves...they didn't do a very good job).

What a Mess
This was such a pain, we had to move so much so fast!

Here is a bit of the unloading process we accomplished. That first day we had our couches delivered, Cable TV/Internet was installed (we've since switched to DSL and satellite, more channels, faster internet, all for nearly the same price).

Moved Some into Garage
We got everything moved in about 4 or 5 truckloads...the 2nd through 5th were pretty empty, without stacking anything...

Lots of Boxes
We enjoy sitting on the front porch as did the vising family when they were here. Also note Jessice sitting near Summer, catching her breath. This is the last time we are moving for QUITE A LONG TIME!

Three last pics...another resting photo and one of the kids' playroom pretty much all completed after being here a few weeks.

Summer got tired running around the large place!

Another Long Day!
And so far she seems to LOVE her playroom! Hopefully she shares nicely with Jackson.

Summer and Jackson's Playroom Room
This last photo was taken on August 25th...a fairly nice/OK day, and then it HAILED like crazy...Jess said it was icy everywhere and looked like snow...so she ran out and took this picture.

The Hail Looked Like Snow
It was over in less than an hour, but the hail stuck on the ground (in some locations, in the shadows) until the next day. Pretty crazy...we sure do get a LOT OF WEATHER here!

OK, that's about it, for now...I think we'll only have one more post showing more of what the place looks like now. They have started the front yard...no grass, but they have in the cedar chips and some plants. We're planning on getting a fence quote early this week, so hopefully we can get that done. We have to still write up a list of items for our warrantee, things like fixing the paint on the edges of the ceiling where they did the repair, making the cement addition on the front porch look nice and a few broken/missing light fixtures and a few carpet/hardware things...not too bad overall, I suppose...but more nuisances, none the less.
