Walk Through Imminent

And a week following that, we'll be moving in!

12 Days To Go!!!!

So, what's happened in the last 11 days? Well, let me show you! You've already seen the counter-tops have gone in. Well, following that, the plumbing fixtures have made it! Here's the kitchen Sink.

Then, the hardwood floor got stained.

And then finally, the carpet has been installed. (I got in there Friday after work for a bit, with just my cell camera.) They weren't done when I was there, but by 2PM today, when we drove by, the place was locked up and the carpet was finished, from what we could see through the windows. When I went through, the stairs were "trimmed" in carpet.

To the Basement
And this is a view of the living room carpet. You can see the texture we chose and also take note of the dark padding...that is 1-level of upgrade, but not the fancy nice water-resistant stuff.

Nicely Textured
And this image is ugly, but you can notice the white padding, this is a protective, water resistant padding, which we put in high-traffic areas and the kids' rooms, since we figured those were the most likely areas to get spills. The carpet itself is basically a tannish cut berber with darker colored flecks in it.

Hall to Rooms Upstairs
Last two pics don't show progress, one shows some work I did to check fit of office furniture, the pool table location and how the furniture may fit in the living room and family room. I didn't make all the furniture...the image is missing the kitchen/nook table and chairs and the dining table and chairs, but I already know they'll fit and be decent. It's always good to pre-fill the house and see how it may work. Especially for the office, since we hadn't bought the furniture, yet, so we found out how many bookshelves we could get, size of the desk, etc.

Furniture Fit Check
Lastly, since we went there today, and brought the camera, we took this shot of Summer in the "back-yard"...the back DIRT PIT! :-) We gotta get our design together and get some materials, we need some grass ASAP for Summer to run around on, she scratched her knees and elbows falling on the sandy/rocky soil...But, what you can also see, is the fence one neighbor put in, so you can kind of see how large the back yard is. The kids will definitely have room to play!

Big Back Yard
And, that's about it. We'll bring the camera for the walkthrough, I think, but maybe not, we'll be looking for things that need fixing...they have a list of MANY things right now, but, we will be sticklers and make sure this house is pristine when we move in on August 3rd!!!
